Welcome! The Trent Mathematics Education Research Collaborative studies innovative practices in mathematics education. Founded in 2008, by Dr. Catherine Bruce, TMERC has a series of research projects in Ontario, Canada, designed to investigate professional learning for both pre-service and in-service mathematics teachers.

We are interested in empowering students and teachers to inquire about mathematics. We are examining enabling, and inhibiting conditions for: mathematics learning and teaching, teacher and student efficacy, uses and effectiveness of technology in the mathematics classroom, and professional development models such as lesson study and teacher-driven research.
